Business Use A Double Arm Mixer? 3 Tips To Keep It Maintained

by Luke Lawson

If your business uses a double arm mixer, this was likely expensive for you. No matter if it was or not you need to keep it maintained to keep it running properly. This will help keep your business going. Below are three tips to get you started.

Keep the Components Protected

There are many electrical components inside the double arm mixer. Along with these, the mixer has a control panel that allows you to set the mixing speed and patterns that you want to use.

There are many things that can cause damage to electrical components with the main one being electric surges during electrical storms.

To protect the mixer from this type of damage, purchase a surge protector and make sure the mixer is plugged into the surge protector. Along with this, you should also purchase a power regulator. This device will control the power of the double arm mixer. For example, if there is an electrical storm and a power surge comes in the power regulator will turn off the mixer immediately.

Keep the Mixer Clean

It is important that you take time to keep your double arm mixer clean. If you use it every day debris can build up on the blades and this debris will also get inside on the electrical components. Once the debris dries this will cause friction when the blades are running. This will cause the mixer to overheat or it may burn the motor out. If this happens, you would have to replace the mixer.

Take time to clean the double arm mixer every time before you use it. To do this, you can remove the blades and the blade assembly and wipe them with a damp rag. If there is debris stuck on the mixer blades or blade assembly, you can use a gentle solvent to help get the debris off. Contact the company that you purchased the mixer from and they can tell you what type of solvent to use.

Keep the Mixing Arms Lubricated

Over time, the mixing blades will become dried out and once this happens your mixing arms will start to deteriorate. If the mixing arms are not lubricated at this point, the double arm mixer will go down completely, and you will have to either replace it or have it repaired.

You or your employees need to check the mixing arms at least once a week to check if they are lubricated well. If not, they need to add lubrication to the arms. Check your owner's manual to see what type of lubrication you should purchase for the mixer.

If you have questions, contact the manufacturer you purchased the double arm mixer from.
